Durango is located in southwest Colorado near the Four Corners, where the borders of Colorado, Utah, Arizona and New Mexico meet.  Its elevation is 6,522′ and the population is 18,588 (2019).  There are 300+ days of sunshine and the tourist season begins in May and runs through Labor Day with peaks in October for Fall colors and Christmastime.

Traveling to Durango

BY AIR: Durango is easily and conveniently accessible by air.  The Durango-La Plata County Airport (Airport Code: DRO) is currently served by American Airlines, United Airlines, Frontier Air, and US Air.  The closest international airport to Durango is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico which is approximately a 4 hour drive. NOTE: Denver is 340 miles away, but a 6-7 hour drive by automobile due to mountain passes. 

BY CAR: Durango is located at the southeast corner of the San Juan Skyway, at the intersection of US Highway 160 (east/west), and US Highway 550 (north/south). Check out a mileage chart for more information.
